Welcome to the APWW-Meet
An announcement list of the Asia Pacific Women Watch network
working for the advancement of the status of women.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear APWW-Meet:
It looks like there will be a good turnout for the first Convener's Meeting
that will be held next week in Bangkok. While its a good turn-out there is a
gap in women coming in from the Pacific islands and from the South Asia region.
However, this does not mean that not being at this meeting will mean not having
your issues addressed. This is the first meeting and there will be ways to
include ideas and issues coming from various regions.
I also want to take the opportunity to thank all of you who continue to send in
names to add to the list and also making sure that issues do not get left out.
The issue of disabled women is very important and we can not allow for this to
be left out.
I will make sure this and other issues being raised in this e-mail list get
brought up at the Convener's Meeting. I will keep you posted on the
developments of the meeting and hope that you continue to send in your ideas
and comments.
I am posting the list of women who are attending. If you know some of these
groups or women, you may want to get in touch with them and discuss how to get
involved in the NGO Regional Forum.
The agenda will also be posted for your information.
With regards,
Luz
